(today's zomby) AND KAMARR, THE DISCOUNT MAGICIAN!

This Zomby!!! cartoon has put me in a nostalgic mood. In particular, the reference to Kmart made me think of one of my favorite recurring guests on Late Night With David Letterman.

Ladies and gentlemen, I give you... KAMARR, THE DISCOUNT MAGICIAN!

And, yes, Kamarr is still at it! In addition to his many appearances on Dave's NBC talk show in the 1980s, the Greek-born illusionist appeared in such films as Ishtar and Scenes from a Mall. Although the "discount magician" nickname was a joke on Dave's part, it seems like it's actually become Kamarr's destiny. His website mentions that the magician is willing to scale back his act to fit your budget.

Interested? Why not book Kamarr the Discount Magician for your next event?

R is for Rabbit (Day 18)

Look at the magic rabbit.

One pill makes you larger, and one pill makes you small. And the pill that Mother gives you makes you hallucinate a glowing, Harvey-esque "magic ra[b]bit" who can conjure stars, planets, and comets with a mere wave of his forepaws. Misspelling aside, this is one of my favorite pages of My Halloween Dictionary. I'm not of a temperament to get a tattoo, but if I were... well, this is what I'd have permanently inked on some out-of-the-way, not-visible-during-a-job-interview section of my anatomy.
